Frank Deiny Jr.

Frank Deiny, Jr. started turning left shortly after he learned to walk. At the tender age of three and a half years old he got behind the wheel of his first race car, a quarter midget. Quickly he learned how to tame his machine, winning his first National Championship at age seven.

One National Championship wasn’t enough for the California native. Frank would go on to win eight consecutive National Championships, quite the feat for the youngster. Frank continued to progress, moving into the three quarter midget division until Frank decided stock car racing was where he wanted to be.

At twenty years old Frank decided to move to the east coast to pursue his racing career. He landed in Virginia and was ready to climb the ladder in his newfound world of stock car racing.

By 1992 Frank was competing in his first season of Late Model Stock Car competition. He won one pole and was named the “Most Improved Driver.” By 1994 he won his first Late Model Stock Car race, and moved onto finish the season with two wins and numerous top-fives.

Between 1995 and 1996 Frank would roll into victory lane seven times and pick up 15 pole awards. In 1996 he would also finish ninth in the South Boston Speedway point standings. The next year Frank won two races, including the “Winston 200.”

During the 1998 season Frank finished 4th at Martinsville Speedway and then capped the season off by winning the “Budweiser 200” at South Boston Speedway. He also worked as a spotter for the Channellock Busch Series team in 1998. Frank continued racing across the Southeast through 2000 when he won the “Thanksgiving Classic” at Southern National Speedway. He also won two races at Southampton Motor Speedway. Frank pulled down his first championship in 2001 when he won the Orange County Speedway Track Title and finished fifth in the NASCAR Atlantic Seaboard Weekly Racing Series.

The 2002 race season saw Frank racing for four different teams. Frank even ventured back West to run in six NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series races where he posted three top-ten finishes. Frank won eleven races in 2002, including the “Taco Bell 300” and the “Bailey’s Hometown Challenge 300.” Frank also won the 2002 track Championship at South Boston Speedway and finished third in the championship chase at Southampton Motor Speedway.

Frank continued to compete in the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series in 2003, running nine events. He sat on the pole at Colorado National Speedway, but was caught up in an accident later in the event. Frank’s season would continue that way as the Star Nursery team struggled through accidents and mechanical failures all season. Despite the troubles, Frank was able to finish 11th at Mesa Marin Raceway and 5th at Phoenix International Raceway.

In 2004 Frank returned to the Southeast and competed in the NASCAR DODGE Weekly Racing Series. He made 48 starts and recorded 38 top-fives and won an impressive 16 races. Frank also won the 2004 Motor Mile Speedway Track Championship.

Frank Deiny, Jr. is a real deal racer. Frank is currently defending his Motor Mile Speedway Track Title where he currently leads the point standings. Watch out for the blue and yellow number four!
